Employment Acknowledgment & Participation Agreement
1. Employment Status
I understand that most roles at Pure Terror Scream Park are seasonal employment positions. Certain specialized roles may be classified as independent contractor positions pursuant to a separate written agreement where applicable.
If I am engaged as an independent contractor under a separate agreement, I understand that I may be responsible for my own taxes, insurance, and business obligations in accordance with applicable federal and New York law.
2. At-Will Employment
If I am hired as an employee, I understand that my employment with Pure Terror Scream Park is at-will. This means that either I or the company may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without notice and with or without cause, subject to applicable law.

4. Work Authorization
I certify that I am legally authorized to work in the United States and will provide documentation as required by law if hired.
5. Conduct & Professional Expectations
I agree to follow all operational rules, safety procedures, and behavioral expectations established by Pure Terror Scream Park.
These include but are not limited to:
No possession or use of illegal drugs or alcohol while working or on company property.
No harassment, discrimination, or abusive conduct toward guests or staff.
Maintaining professional behavior while in costume, character, or representing the attraction.
Complying with all safety instructions and staff direction.
Violation of these rules may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
6. Guest Interaction Policy
For the safety of guests and staff:
Employees and performers may not physically touch guests unless specifically authorized by management for safety or operational reasons.
Any intentional physical contact with guests that violates company policy may result in immediate termination.
7. Acknowledgment of Physical Environment & Assumption of Risk
I understand that haunted attraction operations involve unique working conditions, including but not limited to:
Dark or low-light environments
Loud noises, music, and sound effects
Fog effects and theatrical lighting including strobe lighting
Uneven terrain, stairs, or outdoor environments
Quick movements, startling actions, and theatrical performance elements
I acknowledge that these conditions carry inherent risks such as slips, falls, or minor physical strain.
By accepting employment or participation, I voluntarily assume the ordinary risks associated with these activities.
Nothing in this section is intended to waive rights provided under applicable New York labor or workers’ compensation laws.
8. Workplace Injury & Safety
Employees are expected to immediately report any workplace injury or unsafe condition to management.
Any work-related injury will be handled in accordance with applicable laws including the New York Workers’ Compensation Law.
9. Actor Training & Safety Compliance
Employees performing as actors or in guest-facing roles must complete all required safety training before working in attractions.
Employees agree to follow all actor training guidelines and operational safety instructions provided by management.
These guidelines may include:
Safe scare techniques
Guest interaction rules
Emergency procedures
Evacuation protocols
Actor positioning and movement within attractions
Failure to follow safety training or operational guidelines may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
10. Performance Safety & Guest Protection Policy
Employees and performers acknowledge that Pure Terror Scream Park is an interactive entertainment environment where safety is the highest priority.
Employees specifically agree that they will not:
Physically touch, grab, push, or restrain guests unless explicitly directed by management for safety reasons
Chase guests in a way that creates a risk of collision or injury
Block exits, emergency pathways, or guest escape routes
Use any props, objects, or physical movements that could cause harm to guests or staff
Intentionally cause a guest to fall or lose balance
Any violation of these safety rules may result in immediate termination.
11. Actor Positioning & Movement Safety
For the safety of guests and performers, employees agree to remain in their assigned performance zones and follow all blocking and positioning instructions provided by management.
Employees may not intentionally block guest pathways, exits, or evacuation routes.
Running, chasing, or sudden movements toward guests must follow approved safety guidelines.
12. Costume, Prop & Equipment Safety
Employees who use costumes, props, or performance equipment agree to use them safely and only as directed by management.
Employees agree that they will not:
Modify costumes, props, or equipment without authorization
Use props in a manner that could strike or injure guests or staff
Bring personal props, weapons, or equipment into attractions without approval
Any unsafe use of props, equipment, or costumes may result in immediate removal from the attraction and possible termination.
13. Employee Responsibility for Intentional Misconduct
Employees understand that failure to follow safety rules or operational policies may create safety risks for guests and staff.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, employees agree that if they intentionally violate company safety rules or act outside the scope of their assigned duties, they may be held personally responsible for damages resulting from such conduct.
14. Indemnification for Unauthorized Conduct
To the extent permitted under New York law, employees agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pure Terror Scream Park, Museum Village, and their owners, affiliates, employees, and agents from claims, damages, or liability arising from intentional misconduct or unauthorized actions that violate company policy.
This provision does not apply to actions performed in accordance with training, management direction, or normal job duties.
15. Media Release
I grant Pure Terror Scream Park, its affiliates, and promotional partners the right to photograph, film, or record me while I am participating in activities related to the attraction.
I authorize the use of these images, recordings, or likenesses for promotional, advertising, marketing, or editorial purposes in any media format now known or later developed, without additional compensation.
16. Social Media & Public Representation
Employees understand that they may be photographed or recorded by guests while working.
Employees agree to represent Pure Terror Scream Park in a professional manner both on-site and online.
Employees may not:
Post confidential operational details or backstage areas
Share guest incidents or safety issues publicly
Represent themselves as speaking on behalf of Pure Terror without authorization
Violation of this policy may result in disciplinary action.
17. Personal Property
I understand that I am responsible for my own personal belongings while on property. Pure Terror Scream Park and Museum Village are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items brought onto the premises.
18. Background Verification
I authorize Pure Terror Scream Park to verify the information provided in my application and to contact references or prior employers as permitted by law.
Certain positions may require a background check conducted in accordance with applicable law.
19. Dispute Resolution
To the extent permitted by law, any dispute arising from my employment or participation with Pure Terror Scream Park should first be addressed through good-faith discussion or mediation prior to formal legal action.
Nothing in this section is intended to limit rights provided under federal or New York employment laws.
20. Electronic Signature
By submitting this application electronically, I acknowledge that my electronic signature has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature.
21. Acknowledgment
By submitting this application or accepting employment, I confirm that I:
Have read and understand this agreement
Agree to follow company rules, training requirements, and safety policies
Understand the seasonal nature of the position
Confirm that the information I provided is accurate
If under 18 years old, I understand that parental or guardian consent may be required.
